WE TRIED GLOSSIER’S FIREST OF ALL: IT IS HERE YOU HAVE NEVER KNOWN HERE.

There is no such thing as news from the new Glossier drop, and the frenzy is magnified when it is a first from the brand.

Enter, Universal Pro-Retinol Glossier, £30.

Retinol is one of those components that many try to avoid, fearing the irritation of the skin, but Glossier is mild and developed in principle to make retinol rewarding for all types of skin.

Universal Pro-Retinol has all the advantages you would anticipate from retinol, improving the look and nourishment of fine lines, defects, pores, dark spots, uneven tones and fabric. It has a creamy texture, however the manufacturer recommends that you use it as a serum, if required, and then use a moisturiser.

Glossier Retinol consists of a 0,5% retinol sunflowerate (a combination of retinol and sunflower seed fatty acids) plant-based complex, a novel, less irritating, but as effective, retinol game player than conventional retinol. Stevia (a natural alternate for retinol) and moistening root mondograss and glycerin are substances, all of which combine to assist maintain hydration in your skin and minimise retinal drawbacks, such as dryness and skinning. They ease the look and feed the retinyl sunflowerate simultaneously, serving like a wonderful buffer, which is more accepted.

The Universal Pro-Retinol is the most costly skin care introduction to date of Glossier at £30, which amounts to £1 more than the Priming Moisturiser Rich brand, £29.

Like most retinol, it should be applied only in the night since it will increase the sensitivity of your skin to the sun and will also cause sunlight to deteriorate. Glossier suggests starting with and increasing gently by applying retinol once or two times a week.

Eighty-one percent (they don’t tell how much of them) of the testers (81% said their dark spots looked faded, while over 80% reported their skin was lifted and even in texture when everyone said their skin looked radiant and less dull, felt sweeper and smoother. The result is a four-week Universal Pro-Retinol study.

The final packaging is not like my bottle is a laboratory sample (see the completed product photo on the top), but the formula is the same within. It takes a while for retinol to become well recognised, but I did not realise any irritation or redness after trying it before bed (however, I’ve been using Sunday Riley’s Luna Sleeping Night Oil for about six years, so maybe already have a decent retinol tolerance). This product feels thick and cocooning, it is much bouncer and thicker than any other retinol that I have used, thus I can see why it is accepted by all types of skin nicely.

My skin felt so hydrated that I used a day cream. It sinks fast, and the skin didn’t feel tightly nor stiffly. Long-term effects I’ll report back!
